The country I am researching addresses cultural diversity through their population. Israel has a large immigration flow with increasing diversity. Most of the Israeli immigrants are Jewish and they share rich origins and cultures. Although most of the Israeli’s are jewish there is a strong representation of each religion in the country. Within the country, they address cultural diversity but having the religions prominent and they all have their safe space for each group.
Israel’s biodiversity issues are related to the idea of threats to cultural diversity with the issues of protecting the biodiversity and functioning of natural ecosystem. I do believe that governing bodies should be actively involved in protecting cultural diversity because if the government does not get involved then the land is own personally. I think with biodiversity, the government should regulate this especially with the conflict Israel currently has with protecting the land. It would be best for the government to be apart of this process. There are divisions in the culture within Israel that divides the Jewish majority between their different practices, like Orthodox, Conservative and Reform Judaism. Israel also has different areas and markets that are appropriate to each religion. The Jewish public opinion is split between whether Israel can serve as a homeland for Jews while also accommodating the country’s Arab minorities. As the country is already very controversial as is, I think it is important for the government to help with biodiversity especially related to cultural diversity.

I just completed my report on the status of education in Israel which you can find on my Political and Economics page. I invite you to review the information I gathered and make comments on this report!!
Globalization is the process when a consumer develops international influences to produce a product. For example, a shirt can be made in another country then sent back to the United States to have the print on it to create the product you desire. Globalization reached Israel through the telecommunications market. Israeli data communication network has branched out to the whole world, using what they have discovered. Another example of globalization in Israel is exposing lower income countries with advanced technologies allowing them to build off of previous knowledge. Israel is able to advance off of what has been discovered to create new technologies. Another example of globalization in Israel is how it helped the country develop by creating new ways they can do business and trade around the world. These different types of globalization are ways that the country can develop or add on to a product or idea then trade or sell the product to another country allowing Israel to get compensation. I think globalization has a positive effect of the country I am researching because Israel is a smaller country and they can really strive and benefit off of the progress they make from their goods and services. I think some of the pros would be developing more intense programs off of who Israel trades with. Some cons would be that you are relaying on what other countries are developing to expand themselves.
I am currently spending one month in Israel, I am a sophomore in college and I was presented with a once in the lifetime experience to backpack throughout the whole country for 30 days. I have never been to Israel but I am excited to see how this experience will reflect on myself. I am nervous since I do not speak Hebrew but my brother does so he will help me. My first day and we are in Jerusalem, the city is older looking with cobblestone floors and open markets. The people are nice but are very assertive, no one waits in line or raises their hands. Everyone just talks over everyone else, but it is not rude it is the culture. The sun is bright and the city and buildings are beautiful. The night life is not crazy, but it is fun and loud. There are a bunch a street performers and tourists. We are off to the Negev next. The Negev is a huge desert. My brother and I are going to hike it. He gave me a rock to keep. The scenery looks the like stereotypical barren desert. We are going to hike the whole Negev. The Negev is the largest city in Beersheba. Once we got to the rock, my brother told me to take out the rock and place in on top of the mountain. He said that he took the rock when he went to the Negev, it is illegal to steal things in Israel, so I placed the rock back and took one myself so I have to go back and return it. The culture shock of Israel is kind of extreme, but I am getting used to it. At night there is a lot of honking and yelling, where I come from, people do not honk their car horns a lot but in Israel they do. This is just one example of how the people are. Everyone I have encountered are extremely nice and warm. There are Israeli soldiers walking around with big guns at all times. This was also a bit of a culture shock to me. I will get used to it, so far I love this country and I am excited to see where I go next. Citations: Issacharoff, A., Zell, M., Jaskoll, S. K., Steinberg, G. M., Solovy, A., Landau, P., . . .
